Are we on Cumberland or in Napier?

Ok, so this morning at around 4.15 AM yeah you read right it was frickin early... We got woken up to the sound of some nob hitting the keep left sign on the chicane out the front of the house then somehow they completely lost control and collected a fence down the road - just 2 doors down AND THE HOUSE WAS ON THE CORNER.... Noticing any similarities to previous events at mum and dads??

So i ran out as did Jason and half the street but I was in my undies cos I couldn't find my pyjama pants last night.. Hmmm. Thank goodness for big fences. And Jason was out on the road checkin out what happened and he noticed that the car was down the road DOING A U - TURN.. What an idiot, the drove back past it and our house doing like 30 kph and Jason walked right up to the car but couldn't see in as it was dark and they had tinted windows. But someone down the road tried to jump on the back as it was a ute - don't think they actually got in though.

So Jason jumps in the pajero trying to get the plates or see where they went and he drove up to the shopping centre then on his way back picked Thirlemere road and drove down it and came up to a house where there was a heap of car fluids on the road and up the driveway so he looked up and put the headlights up the driveway and saw the car so of course we called police and about 15 - 25 minutes later they came round and took our statement and we heard on their radio that the person at the house denied that they were driving it etc etc.. So we don't know whats happening with them from here but here are some pics...

Bec's V8 Race Experience

So - for my birthday this year Jason bought me a voucher to race around QLD raceway - the same as I bought him for his birthday. In his defence I did actually say that I wanted to do it too. Now I'm glad that I did cos it was frickin awesome!!! This first pic here is of me with Jason's dad Chris - he also got a voucher for his birthday and he ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!

So for all of you playing at home you would recognise that this car below is the exact same car that Jason got when he did his race almost a year ago. This was purely by coincidence as we were just standing in line waiting for our cars to come and Chris kept asking me if I wanted to go in front of him and I just kept saying no its all good you go first ( He was jumping out of his skin excited - you could see) and he got a white car and I got this one. Which I had decided last time we were there was the one which sounded the nicest (and let me tell you it sounded so awesome from the inside).

So the crazy so and so's actully let me in and strapped me down in the 4 point harness which they had to undo to move the seat forward enough for me to push the clutch down all the way LOL!! Damn being a short shit. And the first thing that Josh - the instructor who sits next to you the whole time said after introducing himself was that my nicely painted metallic blue nails were too pretty to race in - LOL! If only he knew me... I'm so not girly.

And this one here is me going past Jason so fast that the camera didn't even have time to focus... Hmmmmm, maybe thats not quite true and Jason did get some very good ones but this fitted my agenda better LOL!!

This is me coming in to pit lane - much too soon for my liking - I swear I only did like 2 laps (ok so maybe I really did my 5 but it went so quick and I was having so much fun that it felt like it went much quicker)

And if it wasn't for this poor unfortunate spin by Chris then he would have undoubtedly lapped me, its hard to tell here because we only had the little lens on and this was on the far side of the track - but the car should have been pointed the other way.

All in all though we had an AWESOME time and Annette (chris's wife) thought it was absolutely fabulous that I got in there and gave it a go - and I am too cos I had so much fun and it just went too quick. Can't wait til next time...

South Africa - Lion Park

So far whilst I have been in South Africa we have done tonnes of shopping and we have had a couple of coffee dates with Char's friends (who are really lovely) but the other day we went to the lion park where we got to feed a giraffe and pat lion cubs. It was really amazing just how close they got to the cars. When you get there you drive in to I think 4-5 enclosures (all separate) where there is 1 daddy lion and quite a few mummy lions. We got some really cute pics of them and I just couldn't believe that they were walking around right near the cars like it was nothing... I suppose that they are kinda used to it.. After we left the enclosures for the lions we went for a drive around and saw quite a few springbok and also some zebras (they shit all over horses in the length of the junk department). It was actually pretty cool to see something which was pretty darned Africa hey. Patting the lion cubs was somethin else.. The ones that we patted were asleep and just as we walked out (you are allowed 2 minutes in their area) they brought in some which were awake and were very playful.
Feeding the giraffe was pretty cool too - its tongue was massively long and felt just like sandpaper Riley was so excited to go and do it until he got there and then was a little scared. I also fed an ostrich which was kinda painful as I had too many food pellets on my hand and it went crazy and attacked my hand. It was kinda cool when I only had one pellet on my hand cos it took it really nicely, well a couple of times then it attacked me again. A funny side was that where you buy the food from was a guy who was from NSW and i funnily enough I was wearing my QLD state of origin jersey, so there was a little playful banter.. All in all it was pretty good.. Anyhow here are some pics..

Oh, by the way go to char's blog to see a couple of pics I've taken of Emily... http://www.aussiecrosbys.blogspot.com/

Doesn't it just look so powerful - even though its just lazing around it looks so tough and almost regal I guess.. DEFINITELY KING OF THE JUNGLE!!!

Dave's Birthday

The boys enjoyin the drinks:

Brad trying not to kill himself whilst jumping off the roof and into the pool.

Now, even though these photos indicate otherwise, I SWEAR that my brother and his friends are NOT gay - they are just VERY friendly with each other.
This is a prime example of NOT being gay.
We had a ball that night, drank too much and stayed up too late but overall everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I was only diappointed about 1 thing - Dave and I were supposed to be having a shot in every room (the toilet was the only exception - where we all had to have our hand on the door but not actually in the room) We got 90% of the shots done and then when I was getting ready to do the last room I went looking for Dave - which is when I found him passed out in the lounge room with Rocky. Rocky appeared to be drunk also, a few tins of alcohol were spilt (some because Rocky pushed them over I think) and Rocky offered to lick it all up, it seems he likes his alcohol...

Clouds

Here are a few photos which I took out of the window of the plane on my way home to Brissy. Its a real shame that I didn't take any photos on the way up to Mackay - the clouds were really beautiful and majestic, with about 4-5 different colours in the sky at one stage. Anyhow here are my pics:

Not bad for the make do polarizer I had - (i pressed the lens hard up against my sunnies seeing as how they are polarised)

Flooding at Dave and Mandy's

So yesterday we had a massive amount of rain in just a short period of time and as such Dave and Mandy's pool overflowed and they had gained some waterfalls over the rocks behind the pool. Thus turning their patio into a wading pool of sorts. (Side note : the waterfalls over the rocks would make a GREAT water feature..)

Here's the pics:

This is how half of the water was moved out of the patio area in the first place before the water diversion measures were in place.

Look how pretty the water falls are!!

You probably can't see it as well as I had hoped but the water is actually just coming over the edge of the pool.

The ingenious means of water diversion - which surprisingly worked very well - seemed to keep alot of water out of the patio area.
